"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. Mat 5:13 ESV
We must realize that God is already at work in people’s lives. The seed has already been sown, perhaps by the general Christian culture, by exposure to the Bible, by having attended church or by the experiences of other Christians. The Holy Spirit is using all these things to prepare the ground for personal faith! Our job is especially to discern the flow of God’s work in somebody’s life and to – carefully – add onto that. Sometimes by just rushing in we obstruct what God was doing! When sharing your faith with someone don’t just talk. Also listen sincerely and patiently how that person is experiencing faith and life. It’s only good manners! Listen especially for the places in their story where God’s hand becomes visible. Point out that you believe that God’s love and grace is already at work in their lives. Always point the finger to God – always build bridges to HIM!
Lord, help me to humbly, respectfully and discerningly point others to your grace. Amen.
Listen to where God is working!
