2163 You HAVE a testimony

Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. Luk 24:46b-48 ESV

To be a witness is to have experienced something and then to tell about it. Jesus reminds his disciples here that they are witnesses of all the things that occurred during his ministry. For three years they walked with him, heard every conversation and teaching and saw every miracle and sign. They experienced his suffering, crucifixion and resurrection. Now they must testify of what they have seen. Their testimony is powerful, because it’s true. No-one can deny what they say, because they were there! Similarly, we can also testify about following Jesus. You can tell someone why Jesus is important in your life, how you experienced conversion and faith, how grace and forgiveness works in your life, what prayer means to you. You can testify about these these things with confidence, because it’s true – who can deny it? It’s your own wonderful and unique story – just tell it!

Lord Jesus, thank you for the privilege of a relationship with you. Give me the confidence to tell others about it! Amen.

Tell you story!
