The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Cor 13:14 ESV
According to the Bible Jesus Christ is ONE with the Father. He is God-with-us. In the same way the Holy Spirit is also God, living in our hearts. We know God, therefore, as Father, Son and Holy Spirit: three-in-one. It’s a difficult concept to understand, but the teaching of the “Trinity” is the only way to describe what the Bible offers us: ONE God, THREE Persons. The early church had a beautiful way of looking at it. The word they used to describe the Triune God, perichoresis, means “revolving” or “encircling” – literally moving (or dancing) around. It describes Father, Son and Spirit in an eternal movement around each other, each showing away from itself to another. For example, the Father does not honour himself, but honours the Son, while the Son only does the will of the Father. The Spirit, whom the Father sends, witnesses of Christ and seeks the glory to the Father. Can you see? In the Trinity there is no own honour, only perfect love for each other. God IS love, also in himself! The Trinity shows us (again) how love works.
Thank you, Father, for your love. Thank you, Jesus, for laying down your life on the cross. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for living in our hearts! Amen.
Worship the Triune God!
