For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Rom 1:20 ESV
If God didn’t reveal himself to us, we never would’ve known him. God DID reveal himself, though! Scripture says we can see God in his works. It’s like the wind blowing: we cannot see the wind as such, but we can see the branches moving and feel the rain against our skin. That tells us something about the wind! Similarly, we cannot see God, but we can see his works, for example in nature. Nature teaches us many lessons about the Creator! God also revealed himself in a second way, which is through his Son, Jesus Christ – “God-with-us”. Christ, of which we read in the Bible, also teaches us much us about God. Finally, God revealed himself in our hearts. There, in our deepest being we experience him personally and intensely, through his Holy Spirit. It’s true that we cannot understand God, but we can know God! Potentially, according to Scripture, anyone can know the God who is around him, who came to be with him, who wants to live in him. There is no excuse. Shall we let such a great opportunity pass us by? Get to know God!
Thank you, Lord, for revealing yourself to me as Creator, Saviour and Friend. Thank you for the privilege of knowing you! Amen.
Get to know God!
